Network Engineer


Reports to: Front Line Manager

Job Description
Network Engineer based in West Dublin required to maintain and operate a client’s data centre network and to support the operation of the Network.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • First line on-site maintenance on a client’s network, troubleshooting service issues and overall network support.
  • Trouble ticket incident management; resolving P1 and P2 faults as a first priority working alongside and in conjunction with the Data Centre (DC) team.
  • Complete cabling, patching and running fibres for on-going projects and in preparation for night interventions. Document, record and follow up as required.
  • Label and document any cabling changes that are made and populate required in-house management systems accordingly
  • Comply with all security processes to ensure integrity of all infrastructure and services. Organise access through security for companies that need to gain access to the DC floor.
  • Logistics including booking in and booking out of goods and equipment from the DC store.

Project Manager

 

Scope:

Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager within telecoms or consultancy industries.

You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle delivery of multiple short term projects. Experience in the programme management of new site rollout or site upgrades in a mobile network environment is desirable. A broad knowledge of the acquisition, transmission, radio & operations disciplines would be advantageous.

Role:

  • Managing the rollout interaction with the equipment & services vendor to deliver a complex upgrade program for sites across a mobile network.
  • Drive project delivery through the vendor, identifying issues & resolving as they arise.
  • Manage access issues & other property related escalations from the services vendor.

As Senior Telecommunications Technical Support Engineer, you will provide technical support to both staff and customers who are working to implement VMware’s VCloud NFV bundle and other related products.
