Jim Sheehan, CEO

Jim Sheehan co-founded Surecom with his wife Breda. Jim has been involved in the telecommunications industry since the early 1990’s with Cablelink, East Digifone and Telefonica O2. Jim, a serial entrepreneur, has taken the initial conception of a one man engineering company to todays award winning multi-million professional network engineering company.

Jim has qualifications in Marine Communication and Telecommunications. This was supplemented by a degree in computer science and more recently post-grad and masters in adult education. Jim has completed the International Selling Programme through Enterprise Ireland and DIT with a view to expanding Surecoms services and International markets.

Dr. Breda Kenny Sheehan, Director

Breda has over 20 years’ experience in education and research in the field of Entrepreneurship and International business. Breda is co-founder and director of Surecom with responsibility for strategic and collaborative decisions. Breda has extensive experience managing National, EU and International project teams for business research, commercialization and training. Breda is head of Department of Management & Enterprise at Cork Institute of Technology, a member of the board of the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB), Chair of the Campus Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Network (CEEN) and Director of the Rubicon Innovation Centre.

Breda has a PhD in international business. Her doctoral research focused on networking capability and the international performance of High Tech SMEs in the Telecommunications and Internet sector.

Martin Gallagher, Managing Director

Martin has over 30 years experience in the telecoms sector. Starting his career with AT&T followed by ESB, where he subsequently took up a role as Field Operations Manager with Esat Digifone/Telefonica O2.

In 2007 Martin joined Surecom as Operations Manager and in 2011 took on the role of Managing Director. Martins strategic leadership saw Surecom achieve sustainable growth, moving the company from a startup to leading player within the Irish telecoms market.

Martins primary qualification is in Electronic engineering and followed up by diploma in management through the Open University. More recently, Martin has developed his natural coaching attributes with a Diploma in Executive Coaching from the IMI.

John Griffin, CFO

John is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants with a Diploma in Management Information Systems. John has over 20 years’ experience working at senior levels within organisations, advising Boards of Directors and leading finance teams.

John is a strategic thinker and business/financial planner with strong negotiation skills and a dynamic, inclusive leadership approach. Since joining Surecom in 2014, John’s experience across various industries has aided Surecoms business growth and development.

Eamonn McIntyre, Financial Controller

Eamonn has worked in the telecoms industry for over 11 years. Starting  his career with Shared Access as an Accounts Assistant he later took on the role of Financial Accountant. Joining Surecom in 2014 as Financial Controller Eamonn brought with him key financial planning and analytical skills.

Eamonn completed Bachelor of Science in Business Management from DIT Angier Street. He continued to specialise in accounting by completing his ACCA qualifications in 2011.

Liam Flannery, Commercial Manager

Liam has over 17 years in both engineering and management roles in the telecom sector. Liam joined Surecom from Telefonica O2 in 2007 in an engineering capacity. Liam is an integral part of the senior management team with analytical and planning skills he brings to his role as Commercial Manager.

Liams strong analytical skills stem from his degree in Applied Physics from University of Limerick and has subsequently completed courses in various telecom applications. Liam has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in International Selling through Dublin Institute of Technology and Enterprise Ireland.

Ian Corrigan, Commercial Manager

Ian has over 17 years experience in IT and telecom sectors. Ians career started in Alcatel Lucent as a software developer in core engineering. Ian progressed his career into TESL as a junior manager in developing the mobile divisions within TE services.

In 2009 Ian joined Surecom and has quickly progressed to be part of the senior management team. Ian, a diplomatic negotiator, has formed his specialty around contracts management with his role as Commercial Manager in Surecom.

Ian’s primary degree is in Electrical and Electronic engineering from Cork Institute of Technology.

Sinéad Healy, Sales and Marketing Manager

Sinéad joined Surecom in 2009 as a project manager on the National Broadband Project and since then has progressed in multiple roles to her current position as Sales and Marketing Manager. Stemming from her primary degree in Business and Marketing from Waterford Institute of Technology Sinéad has developed her business acumen in the dynamic telecoms sector while engaging and developing Surecom’s brand with the company’s growth.

Sinéad also takes on the role of Corporate Governance Manager and Company Secretary to maintain Surecom’s industry and regulatory compliance. Sinéad has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in International Selling  through Dublin Institute of Technology and Enterprise Ireland.

Matt Talbot, Radio Manager

Matt has over 25 years experience in telecommunications. Starting his career in the Army Signal Corp, Matt moved to Esat Digifone/Telefonica O2 and from there joined Surecom in 2008.

Matt brought with him principal level of technical capability borne out in his early career. Since then Matt’s systematic and innovative engineer approach has seen the delivery of a large number of high profile projects to various blue-chip companies. Matt is currently managing our In-building Wireless division delivering both mobile and WiFi Solutions to direct and enterprise customers.

In addition to his primary qualification in telecommunications Matt has completed a number of Open University and technological specific qualifications, continuously at the forefront of change in telecommunications landscape.

Gosia Przybylowska, Health and Safety Manager

Gosia is a new comer to the telecommunications sector joining Surecom in 2016. As Surecom’s Health and Safety Officer Gosia has taken on a lead role in the telecommunications industry and has seamlessly integrated into Surecom’s management team to deliver the best practice and most up to date procedures and policies within the industry.

Gosia has the honour of achieving a First Class Honours grade in Occupational Health and Safety Degree from Sligo Institute of Technology. Gosia is continuously bringing innovation and new systems to develop Surecom’s Health and Safety program into the future.

Siobhan McDonald, HR Manager

Siobhan has held multiple roles in business support, project management roles prior to joining Surecom in 2009. Siobhan continued to deliver on projects within Surecom until 2015 when she was promoted to HR manager where her desire for research and planning was put to work. In 2016 Siobhan embarked on re-qualifying in  the discipline of Human Resource Management (HRM) through Waterford Institute of Technology.

Siobhan’s primary qualification is diploma in HRM but has completed numerous professional development certifications prior to this. Siobhan endeavors to make Surecom a leading place to work with the introduction of strategic HRM and innovative HR approach to support both our employees and our business.
